Jacob Noonan

Raised in Sydney, Cape Breton, Jacob began creating his own stories and poems shortly after learning how to write.

That creativity continued into his teenage years, when he began writing melodies and lyrics while listening in on a jam ensemble formed by friends.

Members of that group eventually became the band Revolution 27, with Jacob serving as principal songwriter and lead singer. The band performed at local all-ages events and high school coffee houses, during which time Jacob also began playing rhythm guitar.

During university, Jacob’s songwriting and guitar playing intensified and expanded through collaborations with musicians he met on campus.

Those jam sessions eventually developed into The Regal Beagle Band, a group that went on to play hundreds of shows throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond, blending folk-rock and Celtic influences with a danceable rhythm.

The Regal Beagle Band released an EP and two full-length albums. The title track from their sophomore album, “Levels,” reached number three on the East Coast Countdown.

After returning home in late 2019, Jacob continued writing and performing as a solo artist.

A few years later, he formed The Decades with Alan Buckingham, giving both new and older original songs a new life.

The Decades are currently working toward the release of their debut self-titled EP.
